An Introduction to Frodo (and me)

 Hi! My name is Anna Zurawska and I am a second year Creative Digital Media student. 

My first ever year of college was a once in a lifetime experience and I'm so happy that I chose this course, it opened my eyes and it made me use parts of my brain that I didn't know were possible to reach. I never thought I would be able to find softwares such as Photoshop and Illustrator straightforward. I'm so happy how my assignments and projects turned out and I can't wait for what second year has to offer. I don't really want to talk about the pandemic because I know a lot of people are sick of hearing about it so I'm just going to show everyone my cat that I got over the break 😁😁.

His name is Frodo and he sleeps 22 hours a day. Whenever my boyfriend comes home from work he always tells me that it's extremely rare to see him awake and I completely agree. He only eats food if it's wet so we usually put a little bit of water in his dry food so he can't tell the difference shh. We also have 3 cockatiels in the house so we have to be extra careful he doesn't eat anyone  although he just climbs on top of the cage and sits there to taunt them, They don't really care though, they're very mesmerised by him. My mam absolutely spoils him, their room is now his room because he's taken over! He has a cat jungle gym, a box with a hole in it (he loves boxes), 3 scratching posts and millions of toys. I am now the third favourite child (frodo is first, then my boyfriend, then me). He gets bored of toys quite easily so my parents take trips to the pet shop every week to spoil him even more. 

I'm extremely happy that we got him although the previous owner didn't really take care of him that well. We had to take him to the vet asap because he had lice, an eye infection, ear mites etc.. but now he's a healthy boy and I can't wait till he grows up into a huge lion. I'll definitely keep everyone updated with his growth over the year 😁😁❤️

    Hey Anna, glad to hear you're finding the course so enjoyable and that all of your project work has been a success and something to be proud of. Love the cat, he seems pretty cool, also appreciate all the cat pics, he looks like a big teddy bear. Don't worry, i won't tell him that you're just adding water to his dry food.

    Hey Anna, you commented on my blog so when I seen your name I knew I had to return the favour! I needed a laugh today and got it when I realised half of your blog is dedicated to your cat Frodo! Love to see that you're enjoying the course and thanks for helping me out whenever I'm stuck even though we've hardly spoke in real life because we've never been in the same group!     Hey Anna, happy too hear your finding new things about yourself and you have a very nice looking cat kind of looks like a dust ball but in a cute way. Hope you’re other animals are doing good you should add them in another blog. Hope you get what you want out of the year hopefully the pandemic will be over soon and I think everyone is sick of hearing about it well I am anyway. Good luck with your cat anyway. :)

    Hey Anna, was great to read your blog! happy to hear you're enjoying the course so much. Your cat is so cute he has gorgeous eyes. Glad to hear that you've taken him in and given him a great life. He looks like a ball of joy. I too never thought I would be able to figure out photoshop or illustrator but I'm slowly understanding more each day.

    Hi Anna! I was just reading your blog and I am so glad you found year one so fun and memorizing. I too like the course and the people in it. Your cat looks amazing and sounds like he really does get spoiled. I have a dog of my own but he wouldn't be that spoiled haha. Good luck with year two :)

    Hi Anna! Good to see you like the course. What was your favourite piece of work you produced from last year? Your cat is so, so cute! I feel you on having a pet treated terribly by a previous owner, our dog was the same. Makes me angry thinking about how she was treated. Also love the name, absolutely think it suits him!

    It's great to hear your enjoying the course you decided to do, a lot of people end up doing a course they don't enjoy, so that's already a win right there. You seem to love that cat haha, Frodo is a great name for a cat, very original!!! Hope you have a great time in second year and make great memories, hopefully see you one day after COVID restrictions level down and were actaully allowed go to college, until then good luck with all the work!!!

Really glad we met on this course :) You're really talented and should stop underestimating yourself!! Sucks to be the 3rd favourite child but I'm sure you'll get over it hahahah!     Hi Ania, its great to hear you're enjoying the course and excited for what this year has to offer. I am the same, I thought first year was a blast and I can't wait to get started with this year. Thats really nice that you got a cat over lockdown, he looks adorable and his name is very creative haha.     Hi Anna, frodos a beast, british short hair kittens are little feisty creatures I am sure he is wresting a lot with you. Glad to see you enjoyed first year, Photoshop and illustrator are pretty cool and fun to use, I think learning such craft really opens are minds to possibilities that are beyond our imagination , especially if we incorporate other life skills within, we then can really produce some quality content. Anyways good reading your blog, wish you the best throughout your CDM journey.

    I think all of us are sick and tired talking and hearing about the virus and quarantine. I'm glad that I learned a few skills in photoshop because they are useful to me right now. It seems that Frodo has found a nice home and is in good hands right now so that's good to hear.

    Hi Anna, you got a very photographic cat there, looks likes he brings you a lot of fun. I am also very happy with this course choice, it allows me to get a taste of every thing to do with creative digital media and gives me more chance to decide where I want to focus. I got a cockatiel too, they are great companions.

    Hey Anna, I love how half your blog is about your cat I wish I had done that with my dog! I was the same so happy that I picked this course I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else if I'm being honest.     It's great to hear that First Year had such an impact on you, honestly I feel the same! Learning all the new software and doing all the different assignments was a lot more exciting than I could have ever imagined when going into college. Frodo is an absolute star! I'm so glad he's healthy and happy now and getting all the love his adorable little existence deserves!

Game Design Document

 I created my first ever Game Design Document, I felt like the reading task this week helped me a lot on my journey. Dundoc has some extremely useful game design document templates that are nicely organised into different titles such as technical, sounds, game introduction etc. I looked at other students game design documents whenever I was stuck on specific things and I found it 100 times easier. The template looks daunting at first but I promise it's not as bad as it looks! Right now I haven't made the game so when my vision comes alive I will include screenshots and information architecture.
